In awe I watched the waxing moon ride across the zenith of the heavens like an ambered chariot towards the ebon void of infinite space wherein the tethered belts of Jupiter and Mars hang forever festooned in their orbital majesty. And as I looked at all this I thought...I must put a roof on this lavatory.

Yesterday I went to my grandma's funeral. Death isn't a big deal to me honestly. Once someone is dead, they're dead. Nothing can be done to bring them back and I honestly don't feel like sitting around feeling bad because of it. On Monday my dad told she died and for some reason I knew. I can't really explain why, but on Easter when I last saw her, I knew it was the last time I'd ever see her.
For the past few years she and I haven't exactly agreed on much. She was devoted to her faith and every Sunday she'd go to church. For many years I would spend every weekend with my grandparents and so I'd often have to go to church. When I was 11 I told her I wasn't going anymore and that was that. It wasn't because I don't believe in god. It was the simple fact that church is boring and what they teach there don't reflect my personal beliefs on what god is or what god does.
The last time I saw her, she and I talked like we did before that. We talked about my future and how she hoped for the best in me. She gave me the feeling that no matter what I did she'd be proud of me. I now wish I could just apologize to her for being such a little prick at times, but I'm sure she has already long forgiven me. I never really thought about it much, but she and my grandfather were a huge part of my life. My aunt told me yesterday after the funeral that I out of all the other grandchildren knew my grandmother and grandfather the best. This really hit home with me.
I'll miss them both. A lot.
Sorry if this entry doesn't make a lot of sense.

| | It Runs In The Family (sequel to A Christmas Story) | ] | So I went to the dentist today. Had to have another tooth pulled out, but this one was different. See, this beauty had four roots. And each root was going into my sinus. So guess what happened? They gave me a shot on my gums as expected and then...
They gave me a shot on the roof of my mouth.
Picture this if you will: A needle piercing the roof of my mouth. It was a bit painful. Funny thing is, if I blow my nose in the next four days or so there is a very good chance I will violently open up the cut in my mouth from where the tooth was and be forced to get stitches...in my mouth. Thank God they gave me painkillers.
Because of the fact that my addiction to Coca-Cola is slowly rotting my teeth away I have been drinking Coke Zero as of the last two weeks or so. To say the least it's going well. Getting all the caffeine with none of the sugar or calories. I've actually lost some weight (not much though as I've pretty much been sitting on my ass the last four days).
As for the possibility of a house-warming party...
Most likely. When? Soon, hopefully. My dad and I really wanna get the house set up and stuff. See, the house we rented was furnished as it use to be a seasonal place (it's not anymore obviously). Unfortunately the stuff this place was loaded with was a bunch of old lady crap so we gotta try our best to weed it out and make it seem more like home. But because my dad and I overworked ourselves on moving day we could hardly move for like two days straight.. So we sat around, got high and watched TV. And then as I described above I went to the dentist and since my ass has been pretty much drugged all day not much has gotten done.
But when a house-warming party (or any other party for that matter) is announced...I'll let anybody who cares know.
Only 15 days until Silent Hill is released everywhere.
And by the way, if you would like to read the tale of how Jason Mewes (Jay from Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back and Clerks II) went from being addicted to smack to being clean for 3 years (as of today actually) check out Kevin Smith's blog My Boring Ass Life: Me and My Shadow.

It means get drunk as hell and if possible go see V For Vendetta. Then after that...drink some more and then start a fight about whether puppies should be in fact called puppies or baby dogs.
Then fall asleep while listening to Drunken Lullabies by Flogging Molly.
Remember kids...today is the one day of the year where everyone is 21. And if anybody says otherwise (and some may argue...they're call cops and parents) smash a bottle over their head and then beat them with a stick because violence is the answer to pretty much everything.
Now I'm gonna go to sleep, wake up and have myself a Guinness for breakfast.
Happy Saint Patrick's Day everyone. |

A DVD is scheduled to be released hopefully by fall and is suppose to be filled to the brim with some great extras (please, please, please put the original shorts on there).
This is really just terrible in my opinion. Stella was one of the best shows to be released on Comedy Central since Reno 911 and I'm With Busey. It was premiered alongside with Mind of Mencia and for some reason that friggin' show is still on the air.
If you were a fan of Stella be sure to check out the movies Wet Hot American Summer and The Baxter. Wet Hot American Summer was written by Michael Showalter and David Wain (who also directed) while The Baxter was written and directed by Michael Showalter.
Blah.
I'm kind of sad about this folks.

| | Bright Eyes - Theme from Pinata | ] | Yesterday was NOFX and what a day it was. Other than the fact that it took like 2 hours to leave town (Wal-Mart is sly with it's hot dogs), everything went pretty smoothly.
The first two bands, The Loved Ones and the Lawrence Arms were pretty good. The former being the better of the two in my opinion. During the Lawrence Arms I thought about jumping into the mosh pit, but decided against when I thought about the fact that I have bad knees, asthma, I'm blind in one eye and I'm a magnet for hilarious pain. And then someone was thrown into me.
So Lawrence Arms got off stage and the floor started to fill up even more. I thought back to when I saw NOFX at Warped Tour 2 years ago. Then I looked at Paul and said, "If there was anything to hold onto, I'd hold onto it."
Behind the curtain the band played around with their instruments and the crowd went nuts. Then the lights went down and the crowd started moving. Fat Mike started talking and they played a few 50 second songs. Then they played The Decline, their 18 minute masterpiece. And without warning, the entire floor became one huge mosh pit. Within the first five minutes Paul and I were separated and I had an asthma attack. A man attempted to break my spinal cord because he didn't like the fact I was being pushed up against him. Finally I found Paul again and latched onto his back for safety and the chance to get some air. And then I watched the band perform The Decline and it was amazing.
The song ended and they played some amazing tracks (Franco Unamerican, Stickin' in my Eye, Linoleum, Murder the Government, Idiot Son of an Asshole) along with a few new songs that won't be on their next album (which were still good even if not on the new album). Eric Melvin fell on his ass and El Heffe equaled amazing as usual. Oh, and Fat Mike stole a dollar from a kid's wallet and made fun of the new Misfits. It was great. The show ended and we went home. All last night I was in what I like to call uber-pain, but now that I've woken up I'm alright. No more pain whenever I breathe.
Now according to NOFX, this tour will be the last time they play The Decline live so if you missed it, consider shooting yourself. |
